Not all that long ago, if your farm needed a barn, your community would join in and help build you one. You would get a solid head start, and your neighbors would soon enjoy all the good things that your farm would produce. The whole community would participate, it was a social event and everyone ultimately benefited from the exchange. The rise of crowd funding makes this sort of community effort possible once again, enabling those with ideas to meet directly with those interested in supporting them. No intermediaries, no distributors – just a direct, simple, efficient exchange where everyone wins. Onehundred was created as a collaboration between some of the amazing talents they've found in their local New England manufacturing neighborhood and their international family of supporters through simple, thoughtful design. There are some truly amazing manufacturing talents here that cannot not found anywhere else: a 100+ year old manufacturer of rope, a 170 year old clock machine shop, a 180 year old brick plant, a 50 year old baseball mitt manufacturer, a 150 year old life and cutlery factory. They're looking forward to launching interesting projects with each them, and sharing their experiences along the way.
