Ilia Sigi Eckardt is Monsieur Tricot. Ilia Sigi Eckardt grew up in the famous knitting studio of his mother, knitting guru, Hilde Frunt. They gained popularity with their private labels and with the development of experimental prototypes for Veronique Branquinho, Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester and Raf Simons. Mr. Tricot is a first step towards lighting and furniture. The first design is a set of lamps for outdoor and indoor use, handmade in their Antwerp studio. All used materials are weather proof. Being fashion inspired and translating their knit expertise, was the starting point of the look of Monsieur Tricot. A sophisticated appearance and the subtle reflections of these lamps take center stage. The refreshingly new combination of knitting and light creates a warm and elegant ambiance.
