    Ultimate Glass Recycling

    Jesper Jensen creates glassware from discarded wine bottles with the aim to make beautiful, sustainable drinking glasses, without burdening the environment. Each glass is handmade with care in Berlin. Every morning, Jesper Jensens team bikes around the neighbourhood to collect empty wine bottles. They wash them, clean them, cut them, shape them and fire polish them into drinking glasses, jugs, and vases in all shapes and sizes. To make sure the glasses aren’t too fragile they heat them up and cool them off several times. A process that takes about 24 hours. Next step is to pack the glasses in wooden crates, made from wooden fruit crates retrieved from the local green grocer.

    Basically, the entire product is made from other people’s trash – and Jesper Jensen proud of that! But of course, love for the environment is not enough – the glasses also have to be well designed: they are practical for everyday use; they can survive the dishwasher, have a comfortable grip, and can be used again and again without breaking too easily. And of course, that they look good!
