Hollandsche Waaren | Dutch Ceramics

Hollandsche Waaren is a Dutch label with products designed and produced by Anne-Marie Jetten. Anne-Marie Jetten (1973) graduated as MA at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam in 2000. After obtained work experiences for design labels as Pol’s Potten, Norman Trapman Ceramics, Forbo Krommenie Young Designers & Industry and several other projects, Anne-Marie started in 2003 her own label Hollandsche Waaren. It all started after a visit to Japan where Anne-Marie participated in an exchange program. Once arrived Anne-Marie could not escape the cliché images and stereotype ideas that govern Holland: Delft blue, tulips, windmills and wooden shoes. “The family where I stayed, expected a girl with blond hair wearing wooden shoes... quiet a shock when I entered the room with my sneakers and black hair’ laughs Anne-Marie. From that day Hollandsche Waaren re-designs Delft Blue and those elements the Dutch are famous for. Hollandsche Waaren are products designed and created with a playful refer towards the well known Dutch symbols and characters. The whole collection exists of many different and original series. Real and unmistakable Dutch, but with an innovative twist: to restore the old feeling with a new and fresh look. All products are hand-made and most of them are even made in The Netherlands! This way originality and quality can be guaranteed.
