Minestrone
Beautiful culinary books
Minestrone is the culinary publishing house founded in 2008 by food photographer Tony Le Duc. As a food photographer Tony Le Duc gained international acclaim. He dared to present food on wood structures or on an underground of cement. He created culinary images with a ‘floating’ technique and photographed extreme close-ups of various ingredients. Journalists often use the term ‘Food Porn’ to refer to his pictures. Among photographers, he is known for his maniacal approach. As a publisher he has taken the same path. He sets the bar extremely high, and keeps setting it higher. Tony makes artful pictures, but also follows up on all the Minestrone book projects personally. He helps with the paper selection, design and text. If he finds anything that can use some improvement, he’ll press the buttons himself to get it done. In times of crisis, where everything has to be riskless and commercial, Minestrone publishes remarkable book creations. Creations with exceptionally qualitative paper, silver as the fifth color, ancient printing techniques with cement grain structure or puffinkts, etc. are some examples of the unusual techniques used for the realization of the cookbooks. With e-readers claiming more and more ground Minestrone wants to make exceptionally gratifying tactile and visual books.
