LUMINAID

Inspired to design a simple, rechargeable light that could be cost-effectively distributed after disasters, Andrea Sreshta and Anna Stork invented LuminAID’s solar lighting technology in 2010 just after the Haiti Earthquake. LuminAID has been selling solar lighting products for the last 3.5 years. The company has patent applications pending worldwide including in the U.S., European Union, Japan, Korea, and Australia. LuminAID is currently based in Chicago. LuminAID lights have been used in more than 70 countries in the world. LuminAID is funded and backed by Mark Cuban (amongst many other things, the owner of NBA basketball team Dallas Mavericks), the company’s first investor.
