Designer Katja Van Breedam creates handmade designs in bone china. This type of porcelain is not only soft as velvet, it speaks its own language. The distinctive white colour, the translucency and the deformations give the artist the right words to describe a new story. The nearly untameable material doesn't willingly assume a form and gives a certain touch to any form, during the baking process. Katja's divergent creations are inspired by the contemporary shapes of design and the obstinate rhythms resulting from nature. The bone china takes her back to basics: simple profile lines with a less convenient basic shape.
