Block was brought to life in 2000. Tara Ashe from Cornwall (England) had finished a degree in the applied arts, what stirred up a love of form and proportion. To translate this aesthetic into a producible product range, she took an engineering course. Thirteen years later, she still is the lead designer at Block. Now, they work with a small team of designers that is just as passionate as she is. Contemporary design tends to be stark, minimal and very masculine, Block Design wants to show that cutting edge design can be produced in confident and modern ways. The brand has a very distinctive style and cherishes a love of colour. Block's colour choices are considered to be intriguing, trend driven and brave. Consequently, the inspiration behind every design is the passion for colour.
